Travelling by Car from Delhi to Vadodara

This was my third time travelling by Car from Delhi to Vadodara, We had made it in a single day two times earlier, hence we expected to make it happen again.

We started little late from Delhi, and We finally took off from Dhaula Kuan at around 0800, with tank full of my Dezire-VDI, Due to Sunday the traffic was easy till Gurgaon and so on. We hit NH-8 and moved towards Jaipur. The road is not as good as it was some years ago, as many Bridges were under construction, and it took almost four and a half hour to reach Jaipur Bypass, There you have company operated Pump where we filled up our tanks again so we had enough fuel to reach and cross Udaipur. From Jaipur Bypass the road was little better and once we hit the Toll at Jaipur-Ajmer Stretch, the road was good till next 250 kms or so, We passed Kishangarh, Ajmer Bypass, and then stopped for Lunch at a restaurant around 450 kms from Delhi. It was around 1400 and we again hit the road at 1430, and after Beawar, the road was single, 2 lane road with very less traffic, hilly terrain. We drove and reached Nathdwara around 1630 hours, and kept on driving, the traffic increased as we passed Nathdwara, and we had to drive terrifically slow from Rajsamand (Before Nathdwara) till Udaipur Bypass, and this stretch of 100 kms took almost 3 hours, as there was a jam at Udaipur Bypass, and road condition was not also as good as it should be,

After passing Udaipur bypass around 1900, we started moving towards Ahmedabad, We again stopped to get Diesel and after that we drove till Himmatnagar without stopping where we had dinner at 2130. We started again from Himmatnagar and road was neither good nor bad, and we hit Ahmedabad Ring Road around 2250 and moved towards NE-1 on ring road, and hit NE-1 around 2300, and after that road was smooth, and fast too.

We finally reached Vadodara at 0015….too tired. It took almost 16 hours to drive 1030 kms, almost Rs. 700/- for Tolls, and Rs. 3500/- for Diesel. The road is good, but it is recommended to have a co-driver for ease. In total it was great experience once again.

Condition of Public Transport in Delhi

This is a picture of bus plying in heart of Delhi, it is in bad shape, and seems worth not running on roads as there is no back, break or reverse light. Now you can imagine about the traffic police zero tolerance drive.

Development of Technology

In last 20 years or so the technology has grown by million times, I am able to post this blog from a Mobile Phone which is more faster than the 386 PC I bought around 1997, also it certainly has more memory to store data.

My first confrontation with computer was in 1989, when we had some time with BBC Micro in Computer labs during final year of engineering. We did some simple basic programming, and that was all. By the end of 1989, there was a new XT which was rarely available. But today, almost all PDA are faster and bigger that that XT.

Later I bought my first little computer, it was a CASIO with basic programming, but no memory, although world was little advance, but India was not open as yet at that time. There were some Psion PDA, but those were too expensive. In 1995 a PDA with 1 MB would cost Rs. 10,000 and now you can get a laptop for 17,000

In 1992 I would dream of some devices which could be used during field visits to keep in touch with office, and now I am roaming in China and calling my wife from a train, checking mails daily. World has changed too fast. My kid plays on a PSP which is a powerful toy that can be used for internet communication too.

In 1998 I used to dream to buy a Camera, which used to cost around Rs. 7,000... And now I daily move with 3 cameras, 0.3, 3, & 7 Mega Pixels, and can take almost thousands of pictures. it is just 10 years, what to expect in 2018?

STATE OF LAW IN DELHI

I have been hearing about the Traffic Drive starting February 1st, But.... Will People of Delhi be ever sensible to Drive Safely? I think - "NEVER". You may widen the Roads, But still people drive like Crazy. People just seemt to not have any sense of Driving are given Driving Licence. The Traffic markings are just senseless, and Traffic Cops sometime just need a reason to give you a challan, and if you are lucky, you can save lot of money after a traffic violation.

People drive Cars with Black Tinted Glasses, when a person cannot see from Outside in the Car, I don't know how they get 100% visibility, specially after Dark. Certainly people with dark glasses have something to hide, and POLICE must check them, and it must be made a Capital punishment - maybe Rs. 10000 or impounding Car for 15 days.

DELHI NEEDS A TURNAROUND FOR TRAFFIC

Mumbai Terrorist attack on 11/26

The whole event of attack saddened for most of the Indians, WHO ARE THESE TERRORIST ? certainly not good men, these are men with absolute worthless lives, once who are born and brought up to die. I liked line from Army that read "TO FORGIVE TERRORIST IS WILL OF GOD, AND TO FIX THEIR APPOINTMENT WITH GOD IS OUR DUTY"

Actually our system has gone bad, so even after having so much of talent and material resources we are wasting lives. Their seem to be terrorist in each one of us, let me ask the people in delhi...who follows rules...NO ONE! so I have no regret if Terrorist succeeded in their goals..I still remember incident of maybe February 2008..when I entered Mumbai Central station to catch Rajdhani...I had a bottle of Pepsi (half left) and police stopped me to check if it had liquor in that, and what were they doing at CST station when terrorist came, probably they must have fled away, the police is only helpful to terrify normal people, I doubt if they really get hold of real criminals ever.

Feeling Bad.....

Whenever you go on road, you feel bad. If yor drive in Delhi with average speed of 30 kms./hour, you are really a lucky guy out there.

Don't think that indian will have the sense to cross road, Or even drive on the road. Yesterday I hit a bike a guy was driving on wrong side, the drivers are really not worried about the rules and regulations and police.

Anyways I am one of them and even though I try to follow the rules, but traffic drives crazy, and I have to break rules, you can not stop at yellow light when a crazy fellow is coming behind you, and he fells that he can cross before it becomes RED.

Moreover what makes traffic crazy is slow traffic, Cycle rickshaw, Auto rickshaw. Whenever you see a cycle rickshaw being pulled by childern, or even old people....don't know what HUMAN RIGHTS NGO are doing....Even the beggars and sellers on Crossing make you crazy sometimes...

GOD help Delhi to come to Some better driving standards

Another lazy day

The life is too slow....and rain in Delhi makes life worst. The good thing that may have happened is that India won it's first Olympics Individual Gold by Abhinav BINDRA....ONE IN THE BILLION....he must have worked really hard in his field to come to top...but he looks and feels too shy...

The life in DELHI is becoming worse to worst....and still people hope for better days...GOD is really running this country. How can we hope for more medals when we do not wish our kids to go for sports...and feel better push them to studies...to make a carrer. Moreover...where are the facilities, the politicians get every inch of land sold commercially to make Malls...Building etc. and who does care to make playgrounds for Kids.

Been 10 years since highways started developing, but till date you can reach nowehere in time.....Progress is also too slow...maybe that will pick pace later and who knows????
